The Bowden Retinue are a group of medieval history enthusiasts, who collectively have over 100 years of experience in the re-enactment world and extensive knowledge of the period on many subjects.
We present an encampment of a travelling retinue, during the period of the Hundred Years War, of Lady Margaret and her household being escorted by men-at-arms and archers for part of her journey.
See the retinue go about their business whilst they take advantage of a short break in their journey. You will see meals being prepared and cooked over wood fires, Lady Margaret and her household relaxing, playing games and sewing or braiding, as well as demonstrations of skill in archery, as the men practice their war craft and the ladies practice for hunting purposes.
