de Mowbray’s Musicke perform music, songs and dances of the late 15th century. We play a wide range of instruments: woodwind and strings, including bagpipes, shawms, recorders, 3 holed pipe and tabor, gemshorns, rebec, citole, gittern, harps and symphonie. We sing in 3 part harmony, and teach and display dances. Talks about the 30 or so different instruments – their history, manufacture and use – are always popular.
We are based in North Lincolnshire and Worcestershire, but our work takes us across the country, working in historic venues as well as in concert venues and in urban settings.
